Meet Luna : The Artist
Stephanie Ventura “Luna Vi”, is a self-taught visual artist from The Bronx, NY. Luna was born into a traditional Dominican household with roots planted in Washington Heights. Her interest in the arts has always been innate, recalling her passion for drawing as soon as she could hold and use a pencil. Her mother, also a creative, has served as a catalyst for her further pursuit of art and creativity.
Her artwork, a homage to the divine feminine, touches on many themes that speak to feelings of vulnerability, sadness, lack of confidence, sexuality as well as transformation and transcendence. Luna describes her work as a reflection of her personal journey of self discovery and spiritual evolution.
Luna is also a creative guide and therapeutic arts life coach, hoping to spread the magic of art as a means to address mental health and overall wellbeing.
Luna: The Creative Guide
“Pursuing a career in mental health, I thought I had a clear picture of my career path, while art would remain as a hobby or side gig. But after being invited to teach my first ever art class to a group of women, everything changed. It became clear to me that art was the gift I was given, the tool by which I can reach and help others.
My focus for every session is that everyone leaves a little better than when they started. I touch on topics that range from mental health awareness to the metaphysical, while keeping it fun and lighthearted. Some of these themes include:
Managing stress & anxiety, Practicing mindfulness, Metamorphosis in our lives, Balancing the chakras, Embracing the divine feminine, Self- Empowerment, among many others.
The themes vary greatly depending on the client and the nature of the event, but are all conducted with the same mission in mind which is to open the space for others to see and practice creativity and add to their wellness, mental health and spiritual practice.”
